Win Coin Toss
When you are visiting team press start repeatedly and you should win the toss

Challenging a play
You cannot challenge a play on your own. On very rare occasions you will be asked after a play if you would like to challenge a questionable call. It is usually due to a player running out of bounds. 

Get the ball first
Go To Exhibition , Season or even Franchise Get everything setup the way you want it. OK done now press Start before the coin toss begins. Now You Should start off with the ball.

Get the ball after every onside kick
This isn't really a cheat, but it can get you a lot of points. Okay when you make a touchdown choose to do an onside kick, now pick to kick to the left. When you get ready to kick a red arrow will appear move that arrow as far as you can to the left, when you kick you can run after the ball and pick it up or one of your teammates will. This is a fun trick and could rake you up to 112 points

Infinite creation points
Create a player, then go to "Edit Player" at the roster screen. Press Up or Down to choose the player you want to edit. Press Right to get to the speed category. Press X, then press X again

Turbo mode
When playing a game, pause it, then hold R1 and R2. While you got them hold, press triangle, square, square, circle, circle, x, x, x, triangle. If you did it correctly, then you will hear a chime.

For unlimited Madden Cards
Create two profiles Using one as your main one and on the other you just have to get 100 tokens. After you get the 100 tokens you go to the Madden cards option and buy a pack. Then you go to the trade cards option and trade all of the cards from that profile to your main one. After you've done that you exit the madden cards screen, when it asks if you want to save profiles you click no.

Now you go to the memory card option and save ONLY your main profile. Turn the game off and back on and the other profile still has 100 tokens and you have the cards that you traded to yourself. It's not really a cheat, but hey, it works.

Fat Man
Hold circle and press L1

Ultra Barry Sanders blows pass everyone
Square and circle hold down and L1 and R

Super Field Goals
Enter "plump" as a name in the code menu.

Always Receive Passes (Receiver)
Enter "ultrasound" as a name in the code menu.

Bonus team
Press Circle once at the team selection screen to get the super bowl teams.
Press Circle 2x to get the all-star teams.

Super Bowl automatically
Go to the Playoffs. Select your team and do not press X. Then press R1+X. You can hear a buzzer sound. Before this buzzer stops, press R2+Triangle. Now you will see a screen where you can choose the city for Super Bowl and the away-team.

Pin your opponent within the 10 yard line on the kickoff
It seems that on the kickoff if you aim for the corner end zone marker,  and if the ball goes out of bounds on the fly within the 10 yard line, instead of an illegal procedure, the computer gets the ball where it went out of bounds, as if you had punted the ball.

All Madden cards
When you have points for Madden cards, go to the card book. Before you buy a pack of cards, press all top buttons, then turn your PS2 off. When you get back, you will have the complete set of cards and the corresponding cheats.

Lots of cards easily
Start a profile and collect many tokens during gameplay. Buy some packs of cards. Start another profile and repeat the procedure. Save all. Enter the trade screen and trade those cards from the second profile you want to have at the first. Trade three cards for one and save the first profile but not the second. Turn off your PS2 and restart. Go to the card screen and see, what has been traded. This code also works the other way round.

Players stats at max
Select "roster" and "edit player". Watch the players stats and go to speed. Then press X. Now you can set all stats to maximum. Get 100's of Points
When you do your kick-off do an on-side kick-turn the arrow as far as you can to the left then kick at about 1/2 power you should almost always get the ball.

Extra Madden Tokens
By doing higher skill levels, you will multiply the number of tokens for a task by 1, 2, 3, or 4.

Hint

Madden Cards
There are three different value levels of the cards: Gold(4), Silver(2), and Bronze(1). The cards each serve one use, except for stadium cards, team cards, and historical players, which are always active. The other cards are for cheat codes and boosting player attributes. Gold cards last for one half of a game. Silver last for half a quarter. Bronze cards last for a single play. You earn Madden Cards by purchasing them with Madden Tokens. Madden Tokens are earned by accomplishing certain feats during game play. There are five levels of feats to accomplish, and you get more tokens for the higher difficulty level. Submitted by Jared500

Madden Card effects

John Elway (Card #160): John Elway appears in the Free Agent bin.
5th Down (Card #203): You receive an extra down.
3rd Down (Card #204): The CPU only gets three downs.
Tight Fit (Card #208): The uprights are very narrow, creating an impossible kicking situation.
Da Bomb (Card #209): Pumps your quarterback's arm up, granting unlimited pass range.
Mistake Free (Card #211): You cannot fumble or toss an interception.
Extra Credit (Card #216): For every interception you receive three points and every sack is an extra two points.
Bad Spot (Card #218): Ref spots opponent's ball 1 or 2 yards short.
Toast (Card # 219): Boosts your ability to burn DBs.
Couch Potato (Card #228): Opponents will quickly fatigue for the entire game.
Super Bowl XXXVII Stadium (Card #235): Self-explanatory.
Monsters (Card #293): Self-explanatory

Cheat Codes
Go to the settings menu, then enter the secret codes menu and type these codes:

All-Madden Teams
Gold: If you have these cards, the All-Madden team shown will be unlocked at Team Select.

Current Player Cards
Bronze: Player receives a 25% ratings boost for one play.
Silver: Player receives a 25% ratings boost until end of current quarter.
Gold: Player receives a 25% ratings boost until end of current half.

Enter one of the following codes after scoring a touchdown.

Hip Thrust: Press L1 + Square.
Jump Spike: Press L1 + Circle.
Say a Prayer: Press L1 + Triangle.
Shoulder Shake: Press L1 + R1.
Slam Dunk: Press L1 + R2.
Spike Football: Press L1 + X.

Turn Off Season Salary Cap
To turn off the salary cap in Season mode-From the MAIN MENU (not in Season Mode) Go to Trade Player (in the Roster menu) and trade enough player(s) to any team to put them over their salary cap. You cant trade players to your team to put your cap over, but if you trade for their players and it goes over the salary cap in Season Mode will be turned off and you can spend unlimited amounts on creating your own Super Team

Touchy Position
When you go to kick-off move the arrow all the way up and to the left , and keep tapping the X button . You will get flagged for fair catch interference, but they spot the ball on the opponents 20 . So you get the chance for the ball and a touch back at the same time. I have had the ball spotted as far back as the opponents 12 yard line .

Edit Any Player...Sometimes
When doing the unlimited creation points for an edited player, sometimes you are able to edit any player currently in the game, including the real players.
