All Weapons
During gameplay pause the game
and press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, X and O. This will only
work once for every finished level.
Weapon Edit
Play Gradius 3 for at least ten
hours or finish the game once. You will be able to define the
Weapon-Combinations.
Extended Weapon Edit
After having the Weapon Edit beat
the game a second time or play for at least 20 hours. More weapons become
editable.
Full double shot power-up
Pause the game and press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right,
Left, Right, Square, Triangle. Note: This may only be done a limited
amount of times.
Full laser shot power-up
Pause the game and press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right,
Left, Right, X, Circle. Note: This may only be done a limited amount of
times
In-game reset
Push L1 + R1 + Start + Select at the same time
Instant Power Up
While playing Gradius 3 press start to pause the game. Then press these buttons
in the following order.
UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, SQUARE, & TRIANGLE. If done
correctly you should hear a chime to confirm the code has worked. You use this
code at least 25 times.
Gradius/Salamander
To play first stage of Gradius and Salamander, play Gradius III until you get to
the final boss who tried to shoot 3 spread electric balls at you. Don't
dodge them, touch the middle ball to wrap into Gradius world or touch the lower
one to wrap into Salamander world. Once you've entered one of them you can
play them again by going to Extra Mode in you menu and selected the world you
desire.
Power-Up (Gradius IV)
After you have finished at least one level and the
level boss pause the game and press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left,
Right, X, O. You can only do this once for each level you have completed so if
you have finished five levels with out entering the code you can do it five
times.
Cube attack (Gradius 3)
Reach stage 9 in the game to unlock cube attack in
extra mode.
First Gradius stage (Gradius 3)
Reach stage 10 and let the Boss hit you with a
bullet to unlock the first Gradius stage in extra mode.
Extra edit mode (Gradius 3)
Successfully complete or accumulate ten hours of
game play in Gradius 3 to unlock an "Extra Edit" option in extra
mode. This option allows weapon combinations to be edited. More weapons can
be unlocked for editing by completing the game a second time, or by
accumulating another ten hours of game play.
Boss rush mode (Gradius 4)
Successfully complete the game to unlock boss rush
mode.
Stage select (Gradius 4)
Successfully complete the game without using any
continues to unlock stage select
Hidden Modes, Gradius III
Once you reach Stage 9, the extra mode will appear. You will now be able to
play Cube Attack.
If you get hit with a bullet from a big boss during Stage 10 you will get
levels from the first Gradius. If you play them once you will always have
access to them. Once you beat the game once you will unlock the Extra Edit.
This can be found in the Extra Mode. Beat the game in Extra Edit Mode to
have access to more weapons.
