Hint: Defensive Play
To stand a chance against more experiences and stronger computer and human
opponents, take a defensive role, especially with computers. Hold guard (G) and
let them unleash their string of attacks, keeping in mind to watch them so you
can change position to block both high and low attacks respectively. When they
are done with their combo, their character will temporarily stall as they gain
their neutral stance, this is when you drop your guard and open up a can of your
own.

Before the SEGA logo appears in the rolling game demo, press and hold CIRCLE
button, and you will be able to hear the old ''Seeegaaa'' voice. Fans of old
Sega games will definitely recognize this
Fight as Dural
Get to the Sega Area Uptown stage in Quest mode. Buy
the ability to fight as Dural from the shop.
Now in VS. Mode, highlight the top left corner of the selection screen to choose
Dural.
Alternate Dural stage music
Reach Dural's stage in arcade mode within nine minutes
to hear alternate music.
Fight Dural with glowing eyes
Reach Dural's stage in arcade mode with a total number
of wins with a "9" as the last digit.
Fight transparent Dural
Reach Dural's stage in arcade mode within a time limit
that is set to the number of rounds multiplied by two, plus two minutes. With
the default settings, this time limit is six minutes.
Original stages
Get to the Sega Area Uptown stage in Quest mode to open
up Virtua Fighter 4 stages. Now in VS. Mode, hold Start while choosing a stage
to play the original version.
Training stage 1
Reach the Club Sega Bay Area stage in quest mode. Then
press Left or Right at the versus mode stage select screen until the Training
stage 1 option appears.
Training stage 2
Reach the Sega World South stage in quest mode. Then
press Left or Right at the versus mode stage select screen until the Training
stage 2 option appears.
Training stage 3
Reach the Club Sega Plant Area stage in quest mode.
Then press Left or Right at the versus mode stage select screen until the
Training stage 3 option appears.
Training stage 4
Reach the Sega Area Midtown stage in quest mode. Then
press Left or Right at the versus mode stage select screen until the Training
stage 4 option appears.
Battle mode option
Win the AM2 Cup, Combo Contest, Combo Maniax, Counter
Challenge, Hyper Action Battle, Iron Fight, KnockdownClash, Mirror Match, Seesaw
Game, Survival Tournament, Ultimate Battle, Venus Cup, Wall Death Match, and
Wrestler's Battle at the Event Square
Virtua Fighter character model
Buy this character model from the shop in quest mode.
Then, hold Punch + Kick at the character select screen after choosing your
fighter in arcade or versus mode.
Virtua Fighter stage
Buy this stage from the shop in quest mode. Choose
versus mode, then highlight the top left corner space at the stage select
screen. Choose it to play the Virtua Fighter stage.
Virtua Fighter 2 character selection music
Choose versus mode and select a fighter that has the "Shouhaou"
rank. Complete the match, and the music at the character select screen will now
be that from Virtua Fighter 2.
Sega! introduction
Hold Circle before the Sega logo appears in demo mode
to hear the original "Sega!" shout.
Use New Win Poses
Purchase new win poses from the shop in Quest Mode. During the replay, hold down
P+G and press the D-Pad in different directions to select the poses.
Use Old Win Pose 1
Purchase from the shop in Quest Mode. During the replay, hold down P+K.
Use Old Win Pose 2
Purchase from the shop in Quest Mode. During the replay, hold down K+G.
Play as Dural (JP)
In Quest mode, reach the sixth amusement center, SEGA AREA UPTOWN, and
purchase from the shop. During the character select screen in Vs. mode, move
cursor to the top left empty corner to select Dural. Once purchased, Dural will
be selectable by anyone.

In Quest mode, reach the third amusement center, SEGA WORLD SOUTH, and it
will be unlocked. During the stage select screen in Vs. mode, move cursor either
left or right out of the stage list to select. Once unlocked, it will be
selectable by anyone.
Training stage 3 (JP)
In Quest mode, reach the fourth amusement center, CLUB SEGA PLANT AREA, and
it will be unlocked. During the stage select screen in Vs. mode, move cursor
either left or right out of the stage list to select. Once unlocked, it will be
selectable by anyone.
Training stage 4 (JP)
In Quest mode, reach the fifth amusement center, SEGA AREA MIDTOWN, and it
will be unlocked. During the stage select screen in Vs. mode, move cursor either
left or right out of the stage list to select. Once unlocked, it will be
selectable by anyone.
Unlock Battle Mode in Options (JP)
In Quest mode, unlock and win all the 14 underground tournaments at the
Event Square with any character. Once done, the [] will become Battle Mode, and
the settings will only affect the Vs. mode. Below is the list of the 14

VF1 character model (JP)
In Quest mode, purchase from the shop. During the character select screen
press and hold P + K buttons after selecting your character. This works in
Arcade and Vs. modes only.
VF1 life gauge (JP)
In Vs. mode, have both players select their VF1 character models. During the
match, instead of the normal life gauge, it will be the one used back in the
first Virtua Fighter game.
VF1 stage (JP)
In Quest mode, purchase from the shop. During the stage select screen in Vs.
mode, move cursor to the top left empty corner to select the VF1 stage. Once
purchased, it will be selectable by anyone.
VF2 character select BGM (JP)
In Vs. mode, play with any character having the rank shouhaou. After the
match, during the character select screen, the BGM will change to the character
select BGM from Virtua Fighter 2. This BGM can also be found in the Sound Test
under No.000.
Pai: Easy wins:
Pai may be a lightweight, but if you find her good qualities, then she will
be one of the most powerful characters in the game. One of her good qualities is
her kicking moves. If your timing is accurate, you can block most of your
opponent's strikes.
Orbs:
After getting all seven Orbs (White, Crimson, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple,
and Black), they will disappear then reappear under the "Winner" sign. They will
group together to form a chest, giving you a hidden item (for example, Air: Hair
Ribbon). Note: You will have to find them all again to receive another item.
Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary:
Go to "Options" at the main menu, then select "Special". Select the "Virtua
Fighter 10th Anniversary" option to play that version of the game.
Virtua Fighter character model:
Buy this character model from the shop in quest mode. Then, hold Punch +
Kick at the character selection screen after choosing your fighter in arcade or
versus mode.
Virtua Fighter-style health meter:
Select versus mode and have players one and two choose fighters in their
Virtua Fighter character models.

Buy this stage from the shop in quest mode. Select versus mode, then
