B-side dialogue
Finish layout 1 with a Grand Master rank. You'll now
find a "B-side dialogue" option at the Sound menu
Toggle Special Abilities ON/OFF:
Pause the game. Hold L1 + L2 and press Up, Up, Down, Down. Release L1 + L2 then press Square, Square, R1, R2.
Increase Kanji Level:
During gameplay, press Up, Up, Down, Down, Square, Square, Square on controller 2.
Play as The Real Rikimaru:
At the Main Menu, Hold R1 + L1 and press Left, Left, Right, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up.
Toggle special abilities:
Pause the game, hold L1 + L2 and press Up, Up, Down, Down. Then release L1 +
L2 and press Square, Square, R1, R2.
Show Score:
Pause the game. Using a controller plugged into the second port, press Right,
Right, Left, Left.
Increase Score:
Pause the game. Using a controller plugged into the second port, hold L1 + R1
and press Right, Right, Left, Left. .
Unlimited Item Capacity:
At the Item Selection screen, hold down L1, L2, R1, R2 and press Square, Square,
Square, Up, Left, Down, Right, Square, Up, Right, Down, Left
Control Enemies:
You need two controllers to do this cheat. During play in Story Mode, pause
the game on controller 1, then on controller 2, press L1, R3, R1, L3, Right,
Square, Up, Square, L2, Left, Square, Down, R2. The game will unpause and you
may control the nearest enemy using controller 2 when your character is near
enough.
Secret
attacks:
To perform a secret attack with the various characters, spin the Left
Analog-stick and tap Square. Note: This may require a few attempts.
When using Tesshu, press X + Circle. You will see red smoke around his arms.
When you now punch somebody, they will catch on fire. This will only work for a
short time, but you repeat it again. Note: This works for only Tesshu, unless
you go to the versus mode and use different people, except for Rikimaru and
Ayame.
Easy stealth kills:
This trick works better on high roof levels such as Rikimaru's first mission. If
you have trouble anticipating when to perform a stealth kill, use a Poison Rice.
Throw it in front of the guard and slice him before he eats it. Then, retrieve
your rice and repeat the attack. You must be on a roof or cliff to do this best.
Run or walk up against an enemy's side or back and press Square (default) to
stealth kill him. You can also stealth kill him in front, but you have to do
this very quickly, before he notices you. Note: All stealth kills must be
executed before the enemy notices you. Also, you can see different animations
for each character depending on which side of the stealth kill is in view. Each
character has a different stealth kill.

How to unlock all Versus characters for Multiplayer:
Tesshu - Beat every level with Rikimaru and Ayame
Taijima - Beat 1st level with either Rikimaru or Ayame
Nasu - Beat 1st level with Rikimaru or 2nd level with Ayame
Hamada - Beat 2nd level with Rikimaru or 3rd level with Ayame
Jonin Red - Beat 3rd level with Rikimaru or 8th level with Ayame
Jonin Blue - Beat 4th level with Rikimaru or 8th level with Ayame
Chibot - Beat 6th level with Rikimaru or 6th level with Ayame
Kunoichi - Beat 9th level with either Rikimaru or Ayame
Kagura - Beat 8th level with Rikimaru or 9th level with Ayame
Kenpo Bouzu - Beat 8th level with Rikimaru or 9th level with Ayame
Semimaru - Grandmaster every level of Rikimaru's
Jinnai - Beat 6th level with Tesshu
Onikage - Beat 5th level with Rikimaru or 6th level with Ayame
Ninja Dog - Grandmaster every level of Ayame's
Tatsumaru - Beat 10th level with either Rikimaru or Ayame
Mr. D Ceo - Beat Through the Portal (extra mission) with Rikimaru
Easy kills:
Once you got the last special attack (Wrath Of Heaven), use it to take out
Bosses. Throw a smoke bomb in front of them, because it takes time to charge.
Also make sure you have plenty of health potions. Rikimaru's move is the
longest, while Ayame's is fast and deadly
