View all FMV sequences
While the game is loading, hold X. After the Midway legal screen  is displayed, all FMV sequences from the game will begin playing. Press X to skip to the next FMV sequence.

Introduction sequence
At the Midway Games screen, press L2 to see how the story begins.

Skip and pause FMV sequences
Press X or Circle to advance to the next FMV sequence. Press Triangle to pause and resume the FMV sequence.

Random name
At the name screen, press X to submit a blank entry to get a random  name.

Bonus levels
Play the first level three or more times, then go to the Section level. Play that level two times to unlock another section of levels.

Screensaver
Pause the game and do not press any buttons. Eventually some axes will start flying around the screen.

Maximum character attributes
Enable the "10,000 gold per level" code. You will start the game with 10,000 gold. Go shopping and buy magic, armor, strength, or speed until you are out of gold. Return to the game and you will once again have 10,000 gold. Keep buying attribute level-ups until your character has 999 strength, 999 armor, 999 speed and 999 magic. You can also replenish your health following a tough level by buying meat until it is restored. Save your character or this will have to be repeated.

Easy experience
Killing the Spider Queen repeatedly. She is worth the best experience. If you have some friends playing, have them use the "Defeating Bosses" trick for rapid killing. You can get two to three levels per fight depending on how long your items lasted.
 
Mini Mr. T. Dwarf
Choose the Dwarf as your character and cycle through his colors until you get to the one where he is black and is wearing yellow. You will see a near exact Mr. T replica.
 
Defeating Bosses
An easy way to defeat the Bosses is to buy four or five of the following items before the fight: Triple Shot, Rapid Fire, a magical amulet (Acid, Light, Fire, etc.) that the Boss is weak against. Get close and press the button as fast as possible. This strategy can be used for every Boss in the game and also makes the Spider Queen very easy.

Defeating Generals
Fire a strong attack. The General will block it. Then, fire a turbo attack. Repeat this until they are dead. For a more powerful hit, use the turbo attack when close to them.

Bonus level
Play the first level three or more times, then go to the Section level. Play that level two times to unlock another section of levels.

To gain easy levels:
First you go to the Spider Queen boss. You fight her over and over again and get all the money to buy health and or power ups. You will gain at least 1 or more levels depending on the level you are at. It best works with 2 players or more.

Hints
If you press X in the name insertion screen when starting a new game, rather than entering a name, the computer will auto-complete it for you. Then, you'll get the lordly title of "Larry" or "Chip" or "Chuck." Chuck the Wizard has a nice ring to it.

Hints
At the fourth Castle level find a chest with death in it. Run down to a chest a little below and it will have anti-death in it. Keep going back into the level and do it over and over until you are at level 99.

Unlock Sumner
To unlock Sumner, you must reach the Fortified Tower level of the Battle Realm. Just before the exit is the secret entrance to the coin collecting level. It is the hardest level to find all the coins on, but it is well worth it. Collecting all the coins unlocks Sumner, who has 999 points for each statistic and starts with 5000 gold, 9 potions, 9 keys, and all levels unlocked

More Life
To get more than the maximum life, fill your life to the current max, get an anti-death halo, and steal life from a RED death. This allows you up to 100 life more than what you currently have

Ultimate Characters
First you have to get to the mountain realm. You can get the ice sword if you want but you don't have to. First get up to a high level so you can defeat the dragon easier. You defeat him a lot of times and when you defeat him you get 5000 gold and that is enough to buy 5 of any attribute at the shop and you keep on doing this until your character is at 999 for every attribute

Easy Money
You don't NEED the javelin to defeat the plague fiend, but it helps. It also helps if you have a strong character. Just go in and defeat the plague fiend to be rewarded with $9000 in gold! Then just go and purchase drumsticks to replenish your health until its full. use the balance to build your characters attributes (ie: strength, speed, magic etc...)this can be done as often as you like, or until your attributes are maxed out.

Screaming and shaking treasure box
When you use your x-ray vision glasses and see a skull with cross-bones (Death) in a treasure chest, stand next to the chest, but do not open it. Use one of your magic potion bottles. The treasure chest should start to shake, and you will hear Death screaming.

Turn cherries into apples
You must be at least at level 60, when you are told that your potions can purify poisoned food. If there is a poison barrel next to a cherry, hit the barrel. The cherry should turn into poison fruit. Next, use a potion on the poison fruit and it should turn into an apple. Note: Electric potions will not work.

Mini Skorne
When you defeat Skorne the first time, get the items he drops. Wait until you exit the shop screen, then put them all on. You look like a smaller version of Skorne. Note: This works best with the Dwarf.

Frightened Death
If you find Death while wearing Anti-Death, he will get scared in run away in one player mode. In two to four player mode, he will simply avoid the player wearing Anti-Death and run after another player. Note: This works best if the "Permanent Anti-Death" code is enabled.

Anti-Death
In the game there are two Deaths, a red one that will steal 100 health and a black one that will steal 1 level. By buying plenty of Anti-Death, you can avoiding losing health and levels. After putting on an Anti-Death halo, Death will avoid you. Instead of just ignoring the Death, run towards him with the Anti-Death still active. When you do this, the powers will be reversed. With red Death, you will gain 100 hundred health from him. With black Death, you can gain an entire level from him.

Enlist help
Equip the "Invincibility" code, and go to any desired level. Find a General (recommended), Golem or Gargoyle, but do not kill it. Instead, have it follow you around. Stand next to a group of enemies and/or their generator and let the General, Golem or Gargoyle attack you. While attacking you, it will also destroy enemies and their generators, leaving you unharmed. You can destroy whatever was helping you when you get bored with it.

Double invincibility
Enable the "Invincibility" code, and find a second invulnerable item. Equip both and take off the limited one. You should now glow yellow. Each hit on you will increase your health. Note: This will exceed your maximum health.

Healing magic
Once your character reaches level 80, their magic, regardless of which character, will heal a small portion of their health (even if you destroy magic that comes from a treasure chests, a barrel or is dropped by a general).

Forsaken Province world: Playing tag
Somewhere on the third level of the Forsaken Province is a glowing sphere that when touched allows you to play tag. When touched by the person that is "it", the game will state the name of the person that is now "it" (for example, Green Jester). Note: This does not work in single player mode.

Forsaken Province world: Mausoleum level: Dead man alive
Go to where you lower the wooden bridge. Walk near the coffins and you will hear a person screaming and pounding to get out.

Hidden Golden Item
Go to the Armory, in the Castle Realm (the fourth level in the third realm). After defeating the giant white golem, go into the farthest corner, directly underneath the stairs to the exit. Attack the wall directly below the stairs. It should blink and disappear, exposing a golden feather. Also, the runestone is in this level.

Finding Runestones
Go to Sumner and scroll down to "Runestones". It will tell you the next Runestone location.

If you fail to find all twelve Runestones after defeating Skorne's first form, go back to any previous level. If that level has a Runestone in it, a meter appears that will show you how close you are to a Runestone. The same will happen if you cannot find the thirteenth runestone.
