L1, R1, and the Square button. You should then be able to choose some other bonus fields
The Dream Team
Go to the Team Selection screen and press L2, R2, L2, R2, and the O button. Then move to
the 33rd overall team to find the dream team
Bonus Arenas
At the stadium select, press L1, R1, O1, R1, Square to access the three
hidden stadiums: Cornfield, Ebbetts Field, and the Polo Grounds.
All Star Team
This is the code for the EA Sports Dream Team. At the team selection screen
press: L2, R2, L2, R2, and circle
Homerun Tip
On Triple Play 98 you have a much better chance of hitting a homerun if when
you swing you hit the box button and the two upper corner buttons at the same
time. Try it on homerun derby, it works great. We had 15 homeruns last time.
Playing Tips
If the batter is left handed you must press the left upper and top upper
button, if the batter is right handed you must press the right upper and top
upper button while pressing the box button for the homeruns. Also when you pitch
a fast ball (x button) if you press the down arrow button your ball will be low
but the batter can't tell, if you push the up arrow button while pitching a
fastball your ball will be high. When your pitcher has the option of split
finger you should use this when playing the computer, the computer almost never
hits it.
Pitcher
Finally, a CHEAT for created pitchers: if you give a created pitcher a
throwing speed of 99, you can throw out the guy on first almost always (let's
say 95/100 times). So for those of you who're getting shelled into double
digits, there's this option for you until you gain a stronger skill level. As an
aside, created players may be edited for attribute ratings while still retaining
their stats for the season
Alternate Homerun
To hit a Homerun every time up to bat. Hold "all' top buttons. Press
Up, Triangle, Left, Right, square, Circle, Down, X. You have to do it when you
are in the batters box. On every hitter. When u do it correctly you will hear
the umpire say time but the play will resume. And BOOM when you hit it will will
travel over 700 feet every time. Hold "all" top buttons hit X, down,
circle, square, right, left Triangle, up. (Do before picking pitch this only
works if you have already pitched one pitch and they miss it. After the first
batter miss the first pitch you type in the code and then you can put the other
pitch in the dirt and they will call strike three. On the next batter coming up
you have to type in the code again but you don't have to pitch a strike before
you put in. Only to start off a n inning.
Home Run Tip
To hit massive (600+) home runs, stand in the box and swing using only the
up button and the square button. You may have to find the right spot in the box
for individual players. For instance, Albert Belle stand as high up in the box
as possible. Using this method we have managed 68 home runs, 14 consecutive, and
675 distance in one at bat in the Home Run Derby. This also works in the regular
game but ONLY with a player that has strong power and if the pitch is an over
the plate down the middle fastball. Other hitters will hit pitches in other
locations depending upon their specialty. For tips on what pitch a particular
batter favors, read the scouting reports.
Players in underwear
Enable the "Hidden stadiums" and "EA Sports Dream team"
codes. Then select the EA Sports Dream team as the home team and the San Diego
Padres as the visiting team. Now the home team will play in their underwear.
Altered players
Enable the "Players in underwear" code. Then while the players are
in their underwear, hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and press Circle, Triangle, Square,
X(2), Square, X, Circle, Triangle. Now various physical features of the players
will be altered, such as height, width, head size, and glove size.
Hit a homerun
While in the batter's box, hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and press Up, Triangle,
Left, Right, Square, Circle, Down, X. If you entered the code correctly, you
will hear a thump.
Strike out the batter
While on the pitching mound, hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and press X, Down,
Circle, Square, Right, Left, Triangle, Up. If you entered the code correctly,
you will hear a thump.
Super pitch
Throw a fastball, then immediately press Square + Down.
Crowd and stadium comments
While playing a game, hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and press Square, Circle,
Square.
Weather comments
While playing a game, hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and press Circle, X, Circle.
Sponsor comments
While playing a game, hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and press Triangle, Circle,
Triangle.
Crowd cheers
While playing a game, hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and press Down, X, Down, X,
Triangle.
Crowd boos
While playing a game, hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and press Down, X, Down, X(2).
