Play As Akuma
Go to the random box in the character select screen. Hold down L2 and press Left, Left, Left, Down, Down, Down, Square + Triangle. To access the alternate uniform color, replace Square + Triangle with O + X.

Play As Dan
Go to the random character box in the character select screen. Hold down L2 and press Triangle, Square, X, O, Triangle. To access Dan's alternate uniform color, reverse the order of entry and press Triangle, O, X, Square, Triangle while holding the L2 button.

To fight Dan
Start a one player game and make sure you don't lose a match. Hold Up, L2 and R2 together as the winning words appear and then release. On winning your fifth match, you will fight Dan in place of the character that was supposed to have been your sixth opponent. After the match against Dan, the game will continue as normal.

To fight Akuma
Start a one player game and get to the last fight without losing. Win every match in two rounds without a lost round. If you win a total of ten rounds with Super Combo finishes, Akuma will appear in place of the final boss which you should have fought.

Play As M Bison
Go to the random box on the character select screen. Hold down L2 and press Left, Left, Down, Down, Left, Down, Down, Down, Square+ Triangle. To access the alternate uniform color, replace Square+ Triangle with O + X.

Saving secret characters 
To save M. Bison in memory, beat the game with an eight star difficulty without changing characters, using someone whose end boss is Bison. To save Akuma, beat him after going through the ten super combo finishes method with a difficulty level of five or more stars. To save Dan, beat him on the game with a difficulty of six or more stars. Save the game after achieving any of the previous tasks to place the character in memory. Then, press Down at the "?" box on the character select screen to view the secret characters.

Dramatic battle 
Player one as Ryu and player two as Ken can work as a team versus M. Bison. Beat the game on any difficulty setting with more than four stars. Continues can be used, but characters can not be changed.

Choose winning text 
After a fight is won, enter one of the follow codes for a different winning text: Down + Circle + X, or Down + Triangle + Circle, or Down + Square + X.

Reset game 
At any time except when the game is loading, press Circle + Square + X + Triangle + Start + Select + L1 + L2 + R1 + R2.
