Get fifteen steals in a game in superstar mode to unlock him on the roster

Unlock Larry Bird:
Get 20 points or more in the 3-point shootout on Superstar difficulty. This will allow Bird to be put on any team roster.

To get Larry Bird in your roster go to create player and for the the first name type in Celtics and for the last name put in Pride then press start and you can put him on any team you want.

Unlock Richard Guerin from the 50's All-Stars
Defeat the 3 point shootout in rookie mode

Unlock Andrew Phillip
Beat a team in rookie mode in a exhibition by 10 or more points and you will unlock 50's star Andrew Phillip

Unlock Robert Parish
Win the playoffs in starter level. Do not skip any games or the code will not work.

Passing

Power Pass
When playing one-on-one, L2+X to strongly pass the ball to your opponent

Between the Legs pass
When playing one-on-one, R2+X to pass between the legs to your opponent

Roll pass
When playing One-on-One, press R1+X to roll the ball to the opponent

Get Jordan, DR. J & Wilt Easily
First, select Scottie Pippin to play against Jordan in Superstar level One on One mode (ranked 87 vs Jordan's 88 overall rating).  Set the game to 11.  Set the rules to loser outs.  Whenever checking the ball to Jordan, pause briefly than press Circle to hard foul him before he goes past the arc.   You will be called for a defensive foul 3-4 out of 5 times, but when not called for a foul you will steal the ball. Step back over the arc to clear the ball and then drive to the hoop for the easy basket while Jordan is still on the ground. This takes approx 15 minutes, but the end result will be Jordan, Wilt and Dr. J (all at once).  Don't forget to activate them, save and then get them from the free agent pool and onto your own team.  Using these players in any game to unlock other legends is not considered a cheat.  Enjoy your stroll to the NBA title!

Legend players
At the "Game Setup" screen, press Circle to display the quick menu. Highlight the player icon, press Right and press X to select the "Create Player" icon. Enter one of the following first and last names and press X to accept the entries at the "Create Player" screen. If you entered the code correctly, a message will appear. Press Start to return to the "Game Setup" screen. Press Circle to display the quick menu. Highlight the star icon and press X to display the Unlock Legends screen. Highlight a Legend player that has been unlocked and press X to add him to the free agents pool. The Legend player may then be signed to any empty slot on a team.

Hints

Possession Glitch
When the CPU passes the ball from one half of the court to another, pause the game while the ball is still in the air (try to get it before it passes the half court line). Then unpause the game, the ball should go out of bounds to give you another possession

Steal The ball quick
To steal the ball really quick come up to the man and press O. You will push him and get the ball

Easy scoring
Start a one-on-one game with a friend. Pump fake to get him/her to jump. Then, just go right around your opponent with a spectacular dunk or nasty nice lay-up.
