Gran Turismo

All 8 tracks:
Go to Arcade Mode and enter the "Bonus Items" option. You should see the letters A, B, and C above each of the levels given. As you do the following, they will be covered with a blue, yellow, or red dot. To fill in the four big question marks, go back to the main Arcade Mode screen. Then, go to "Single Race", choose any difficulty level, and place first in each of the four original levels with an A class car (ex: Mitsubishi GTO), a B class car (ex: Mitsubishi Eclipse), and a C class car (ex: Honda Civic 3-Door). After you have done this, go back to the "Bonus Items" menu and the four big question marks should be filled in with these levels: Autumn Ring, Deep Forest, SS R5, and Grand Valley Speedway. That makes 8 tracks!

Easy Money
The easiest way to get lots of money later in the game is to race the qualifier for the all nighter.  You get $20,000 just for qualifying and it is very easy to do this with the GTO special edition or any other car with good speed/acceleration and handling.  It takes app. 1'45" to complete with the GTO special edition.

New Dealers:
Beat all 8 tracks under 'Easy' and get 4 new car groups - Toyota, Subaru, The New Dodge, and TVR.

Ending Movie:
Beat all 8 tracks under "Normal" and get an ending movie (credits).

Hidden Video of the GT Staff
In Arcade Mode, first get the hidden tracks, then, on every track, take 1st place with any car in A,B, and C class mode on Normal setting or higher. Then go to Bonus Items, you'll see "Staff Video" on the menu.

Hi-Res Mode:
Beat all 8 tracks under "Difficult." Hi-Res mode makes the graphics less pixels and makes the game have better sound.

Chrysler Concept Car:
Get all gold medals in the B Class license test and you'll get the Copperhead. You can also get it by getting first in the UK vs. US championship.

Bonus FMV sequence
Select arcade mode, obtain the bonus tracks, then finish in first place on all tracks with any car. This must be done in A, B, and C class mode under the normal or higher difficulty setting. A "Staff Video" option will now appear under "Bonus Items".

Duplicate red Concept Cars
Unlock a Chrysler Dodge red Copperhead Concept Car in your garage and save the game onto a memory card. Remove the memory card, start a new game and select "Trade" from the Home menu. You will be prompted to have a card inserted in slot two. Do this, wait for the card to finish loading, and select the Concept Car from the garage. Normally it costs money to buy a car from this garage, but the Concept Car will cost $0. You will be asked if you would like another car. Answer "Yes" and select the Concept Car again. Repeat this to have a maximum of 100 Concept Cars. Note: The advanced, dark purple Concept Car will cost $35,000.

Conserve memory card slots
Play the game in arcade mode, exit, then enter simulation mode and save the game. By doing this, the arcade and simulation mode information is saved together, cutting the amount of memory card slots used by half.

Toyota TRD3000GT
Get all gold medals in the A Class license test.

Nissan Nismo 400[R]
Get all gold medals in the International A license test.

Dodge Viper GTS-R
Finish in first in the US vs. Japan race under the "Special Events" menu using a Dodge Viper GTS. The GTS-R will appear in your garage.

Chevrolet Camaro 30th Anniversary
Finish the GT League Clubman Cup first in the championship with any car. The 30th anniversary model of the Z28 will appear in your garage.

Imola Tan Subaru Impreza Sedan
Complete the Normal Car (Commercial Cars) championship under the "Special Events" menu and place first. A Subaru Impreza WRX Sedan with an exclusive Imola Orange Tan-like color will appear in your garage.

Mazda Demio A Spec
Enter the Sunday Cup in the "GT League" menu and place first in the championship. A Demio A Spec should will appear in your garage.

Car with best handling and acceleration
The fastest car in the game with best the handling and acceleration is the Mitsubishi 3000GT with all tuning for 930 hp.

Best bargain when selling
When selling a car, look around the different car dealerships to see where you can sell a car for the most money in return. Note: The red Chrysler Dodge Concept Car cannot be sold to any manufacturer.

Toyota Chaser LM
Enter the GT Cup in the GT league menu (with preferably a hard tuned car) and place first in the championship. The limited edition black Toyota Chaser with 655hp will appear your garage. If you finish first in the GT Cup again, it is possible the Chaser will be blue.

TVR Cerbera LM
Enter the UK vs. Japan race under the "Special Events" menu. A Japanese car is recommended. Finish first place in the championship. A limited edition Cerbera with 581hp will appear in your garage.

Rad Concept Car...Alternate Method
An alternate way to get the red concept car is to go to the go race menu then get a gold cup on the UK vs. US championship then you will win the red concept car.

Red Concept Car
Go into the B-license test and get all Gold medals on every test and you will receive a red concept car that has only 219 HP, but can be built up with almost everything but a racing-modification.

Replay Mode Tip
Are you having trouble beating the license tests? Well, you won't anymore. Go to the replay theater in the main screen, and check out the demonstration movies. They will show you how to beat all the license tests!

Winter '98 Playstation Underground Demo Disc Cheat
First, you have to have the Winter '98 Playstation Underground Jampack demo disc, a memory card with no saved Gran Turismo file (if you have a file, use a game where you can delete info), and Gran Turismo. First, put the memory card in, put the demo disc in, and start up the Playstation. When the screen comes up, go to where it says Memory Card Downloads. Enter, and select Gran Turismo. It will give you a description of what you will get. But it only includes less than half the cars. It gives you all the special models and the ones you win in races, and a bunch of other great cars, plus a little less than two billion dollars. Select download, let it finish, then shut it off and put Gran Turismo in and start it up again. Let it load, and you will have everything. All the cars, every race won already, all licenses won in gold time, the money, all the extras in Arcade, and even Hi-Fi GT and the crew video

Extra Parts
Buy one car and outfit it with all the parts you want then save the game. When you have enough money buy a second car of the exact same model. Get in it and go race. When the change parts screen comes up go into it and you can change its parts to the ones on the first car. Note - this only works for parts, not for weight reduction or racing modifications. You can then sell the car for more than you bought it for

Money Trick
Start a simulation game and buy a car, save the game with the memory card in slot one and then put the memory card in slot two. Go to your garage and pick the "trade" icon. When the list of cars comes up on the screen put the memory card back in slot one and trade the car over. When it asks you if you want to trade any more cars click on the "yes" icon and trade it again, repeat as many times as you want. Then go sell them for a lot of money.

Big money
Buy a car (the Dodge Viper GTS recommended) and do not make any tuning adjustments to it. Then, enter the Normal Car (Commercial Cars) championship. There are five races each with five laps, and for every race you win you will receive $50,000. Additionally, if you manage to come first in the championship, you will receive $100,000. Altogether, that makes a total of $350,000.

Memory card battle with only one card
Enter memory card battle mode. A message will appear stating that player one is loading and that no memory card was found for player two. Wait until the information has loaded for player one, then remove the memory card and insert it into the second memory card slot. The game will load data from that location and allow both players to participate in the memory card battle.

Gran Turismo Hidden Cheat
This code will make your game so much easier! First: Buy any car from Toyota. Next: Race in the beginners cup, go back one lap then finish the race. Then: Once the race ends, your car will stay the same, but the final races in this cup have caused the opponents to reverse until you will the cup. Finally: Race for this cup one more time and lose intentionally until everyone passes you in every race, and you will get the GTO LM instantly

Easier turning
When in a turn, hit the brakes until your hear your tires squeal. Then, turn with the D-pad.
