Crash Team Racing

Invisibility
At the main menu, hold L1 + R1 and press Up(2), Down, Right(2), Up. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound.

Always get invisible pick-up
At the main menu, hold L1 + R1 and press Down, Left, Right, Up, Down, Right. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound.

Tiger temple
After the first tunnel you will see a head with a mouth. If you hit it with ANYTHING (includes potion mask bomb missile and vertically anything you can hit it with) it will open. This is the only way to get the t in CTR challenge. It also shows the place in the map.

Secret characters
Play as Penta Penguin, at the main menu press L1 R1 Down,  Right,  Triangle,  Down,  Left, Triangle, Up. a sound will confirm if you accessed the code correctly play as papu, at the main menu press L1 R1 left triangle right down right circle left left down a sound will confirm if you entered the code correctly or win the green gem cup.

Biker dude
Go to arcade mode and put the cruiser on tiny t and hold R1 L1 and rush Triangle square then Circle the screen will then flash and a biker dude will come up.

Impossibility
When you go to time trial go to oxide station beat n.crapy (sorry but he really is crap) if you have completed the game 100%/101% you will no he's quite hard now he is even harder and cant be shot that's why its impossible.

Secret Passage
When in Tiger Temple, when you reach the monkey head, throw something at the wall below the head and you will be able to enter the passage and it is a quicker route.

Pinstripe
Hold L1 + R1 and press Left, Right, Triangle, Down, Right, Down at the main menu. A sound will confirm correct code entry. Alternately, win the Yellow Gem cup. Pinstripe will be selectable in versus, arcade, time trial, and battle modes.

Avoiding Warp Orbs
This takes skill, but mostly luck. First thing, get juiced up. When you get a power up, hope for a shield bubble. The warp orb will deactivate the bubble and you can continue driving. This might also work on juiced up warp orbs and non-juiced up shields.

Super turbo pads

Unlock Nitros Oxide
Complete adventure mode with all platinum relics, next defeat all n. trophies ghost cars in time trial tracks in order starting with crash cove first do not proceed to defeat oxides ghost. next defeat all of oxides ghosts in time trial tracks in order starting with crash cove first. then at the main title screen hold L1 + R1 and press right, circle, triangle, left, down, circle, triangle, and left . Oxide will now be on character select screen. scroll down to 2nd screen.

View turbo counter
Hold L1 + R1 and press Triangle, Down(2), Circle, Up at the main menu. A sound will confirm correct code entry.

Infinite masks
At the main menu, hold L1 + R1 and press Left, Triangle, Right, Left, Circle, Right, Down(2). If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound

Infinite bombs
At the main menu, hold L1 + R1 and press Triangle, Right, Down, Right, Up, Triangle, Left. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound.

Infinite Wumpa Fruit

Extra Battle Arenas
To unlock a new playing field in Battle mode, win all four Cup Races in Arcade mode at the corresponding level of difficulty.

CTR Token
In Adventure, when you are playing Crash Cove, go off of the ramp and push jump to turbo.  Go through the water and it will bounce you up.  Push jump again and make a right onto the bridge once you make it up, and you will get the letter.  Don't go on that ship because it is a dead end.

Red Gem Cup
Collect all four red coins in adventure modeRace as Ripper Roo
To get Ripper Roo you must win the Red Gem cup or at the title screen, hold down L1 & R1 and press RIGHT, CIRCLE, DOWN, UP, DOWN, RIGHT

Green Gem Cup
Collect all four green coins in adventure mode.

Race as Papu Papu
Win the Green Gem Cup to unlock Papu Papu. 

Alternate way to unlock Papu Papu
To unlock Papu Papu without winning the gem, at the title screen, hold L1+R1 and hit left, triangle, right, down, right, O, left, left

Blue Gem Cup
Collect all four blue coins in adventure mode. 

Race as Komodo Joe
Win the Blue Gem Cup to unlock Komodo Joe.

To unlock Komodo Joe without winning the gem, at the title screen, hold L1+R1 and hit down, O, left, left, triangle, right, down

Yellow Gem Cup
Collect all four yellow coins in adventure mode. 

Race as Pinstripe
Win the Yellow Gem Cup to unlock Pinstripe. 

Alternate way to unlock Pinstripe
To unlock Pinstripe without winning the gem, at the title screen, hold L1+R1 and hit left, right, triangle, down, right, right.

Purple Gem Cup
Collect all four purple coins (crystal levels) in adventure mode.

Race as Fake Crash
Win the Purple Gem Cup to unlock Fake Crash. 

Play as Bicycle Guy
Go to the battle mode, put the cursor on Tiny Tiger and hold the R1 and R2 buttons. Then push Triangle, Square, and Circle. The screen will start flashing and a guy on a bicycle will appear

Turbo track
Collect all five gems by collect all coins.

Race as N. Trophy
Successfully complete the "Roos Tubes" level in time trial mode to unlock N. Trophy.

Get N. Trophy
At the title screen, hold down L1 & R1, and press, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, UP, DOWN, RIGHT, RIGHT.

Access Nitros Oxide’s Space Ship
To unlock the Nitros’ spacecraft, you must possess four Boss Keys

Extra Turbo Boost
At the beginning of a race, hit the gas button just before the green light flashes to start off with a turbo boost.

Bonus battle arenas
Successfully complete one player arcade mode on the easy, medium, and hard difficulty settings to unlock four new battle arenas.

Race as Nitros Oxide
Successfully beat all N. Trophy's best times in time trial mode to unlock Nitros Oxide track ghost. Then, defeat the ghost on each time trial track to unlock Nitros Oxide

At the New game screen, hold L1 + R1 and press Down, Circle, Triangle, Right

Scrapbook
Break N. Oxide's records in time trial mode to unlock a scrapbook option at the main menu

Get Penta Penguin

Speed Boost
When you reach the very top of a jump press the R1 button and when you land you will go faster for about 5 seconds.

Extra Turbo Boost
At the beginning of a race, hit the gas button just before the green light flashes to start off with a turbo boost.

TWO Shortcuts in PAPU'S PYRAMID
Before the first shortcut, you will need an Aku-Aku (or Uka-Uka if your a bad guy) mask or a turbo boost (preferably juiced-up) ready to use.  The first shortcut is located just after the "kart-eating" plants.  After that there is a fairly sharp turn.  Just before that, there are two small walls with yellow arrows warning you of the turn.  Between them is a large gap, and after that there is a small pillar with Papu's big ugly mug on it.  You need to use the Aku-Aku/Uka-Uka/turbo so that you get up enough speed to make the jump before the gap, then you should drop down onto the track.  The second short cut is located just after the "fairly sharp turn" mentioned in the instructions for the first shortcut.  After the turn, go to the left of the track and just before the drops, jump to the left and you should land on a small ledge with wumpa fruit. 

Third short cut an papu papu's pyramid
Before you go round the corner where the Stonehenge things are, you will need a turbo. There'll be a little ramp thing, fire your turbo and push the r1 or l1 button. You turn right in the air and then you should land on the home stretch  

Get rid of pesky TNTs
When you land on a TNT immediately start jumping.  If you have jumped enough then it will fall off and you won't blow up.  It might work with Nitros as well

Get rid of those pesky missiles
If a missile is tailing you, drop a TNT or NITRO box behind you.  If your desperate, you could use a bowling bomb on a straightaway. (NOTE: This also works on bowling bombs, but not warp orbs)

Shortcut in TIGER TEMPLE (and the R for the CTR Challenge)
Before you do this you will need an Aku-Aku (or Uka-Uka if your a bad guy) mask ready to use. After you exit the first main temple area (the place with the flaming statues) if you look straight ahead you should see what looks like to be a giant monkey head on top of the building.  Just under it there should be a section of the wall that is darker than the other parts of the wall.  Now you need to use the Aku-Aku/Uka-Uka I mentioned earlier.  Once on, drive toward the dark section of the wall and it should open up, leading to some wumpa fruit boxes (and the R if your racing the CTR Challenge).  Don't worry my child, have faith!!!!

Cut a Corner on POLAR PASS
After a number sporadic jumps (the ones with all the turbo pads) you will cross a very narrow, wooden bridge and enter a cave. At the end of the cave you should see a large wall with yellow arrows pointing to the right, indicating a very tight U-turn. To avoid this (and get a weapon or some wumpa fruit) just before you get to the wall there should be a small hill.  Use this hill to jump over the wall and collect some goodies! 

Blizzard Bluff Short Cut
On the first ice pond right before the bridge turn to the left and you should see an opening. With a juiced up boost or Aku-Aku/Uka-Uka go in that opening and use the boost or Aku-Aku/Uka-Uka and push L1 right before you go over. If you don't press L1 and use what you have you will fall in the water.

Sewer Speedway Short cut
After the first jump when you get out of the tunnel you go to the ledge on the left hand side and when you come to the turn use a juiced up Aku-Aku or Uka-Uka and jump down of the ledge, go across to the other ledge and push L1 when you are about to be on the ledge. This should get you to a secret passage.

Short Cut in Dragon Mines
At the first railroad make a right into the tunnel. Then keep following the railroad until your going on the ground.

Play as Nitros Oxide (It really works)
Ok. If you read the code at the top to get Dr. N. TROPHY you Could get this. Race against him and beat his time. After you do that Nitros Oxide comes out and well you have to beat 1:26:00! I made it once and I never did it again but it really does work!

Works only in Time Trail. But you can use him anywhere except Adventure!

Firing poison potions forward
Press Up or Left Analog-stick Up while pressing Circle to fire poison potions forward.

Fire bowling bombs backwards
Press Down or Left Analog-stick Down while pressing Circle to fire bowling bombs backward.

Flatten your opponents
You can do this by jumping off a ramp or ledge and landing on them. This will flatten your opponent for a period of time.

Drive over your opponents
You can do this by getting a turbo and while your car is still tilting backwards, go straight to an opponent. You can even jump off the opponent for an extra boost of speed! It may take a bit of practice to get the timing down just right.

Have you ever got a TNT crate stuck on your head? Do you explode in 5 seconds? This can be prevented!
When you have a TNT crate on your head, just keep jumping! After about 10 jumps or so, the TNT crate will fall backwards!

Crash Cove shortcut
Near the beginning of the track is a ramp with two fruit boxes at the end of it, just before a small lake. Stay to the right of the ramp and begin turning left toward the mountain once you pass the ramp. You will be driving through the lake. You will have to practice this, but it dips right before you would run into the mountain. As your head goes completely underwater, hold Jump. You will jump onto the shortcut and can pick up a box before jumping back down and rejoining the race near the bridge. You can begin your turn when you pass the single star on the ground just to the right of the ramp. You will be jumping onto the land that is connected to the bridge that you drive under which leads out to that boat to your right.

Dragon Mines shortcut
About a quarter of the way through the race is a railroad track with coal cars on it that go to the right. Follow the coal cars into the tunnel in the side of the wall, then follow the railroad track until it appears at the middle section of the track. You will get run over by the coal cars, but you will still end up ahead.

Dragon Mines Shortcut #2 (EXPERTS ONLY !!!WARNING!!!):
Have a mask ready for this you might want to save one. (You have to have the mask jump on also.) After the wooden bridge there is a coal car track that will go to the left turn. On the track use the mask you saved. You should make it if you do you get run over by a ton of coal cars but you could end up in 1st place and get your prize

Papu Pyramid shortcut
In Papu's Pyramid, go to the part where steps appear. Go on the right side where the turbo is located. Hit it and immediately go left and jump onto the ledge. Follow it and you will jump right onto the bridge and get an apple box.

In Papu Pyramid, before you get to the turn before the stairs, there are two bars that have arrows pointing to the right. Go between them, but keep to the right and jump at the last second to land on a hidden ledge. Then, jump off it. If done correctly, you will land on the other shortcut, or be lined up for it.

There is a jump on the way to the hairpin turn by the finish line . If you time a jump perfectly, you can get across to the other side. This trick has a near 100% chance if done with Aku Aku/Uka Uka or a speed boost. Also, when you approach the other end of the track, release X and press Circle + Right to turn in the air so you do not fall off the other end.

Polar Pass shortcut
There is a wall before the jump at Polar Pass. Enable the "Unlimited masks" code and use it before the wall to jump over it.

Sewer Speedway shortcut
In Sewer Speedway, you can take a shortcut that will enable you to go faster and end up ahead of the pack. This shortcut can only be reached with a speed power-up. Go into the tunnels immediately after the first part. Stay on the left ledge and look above the right ledge. You will see a hole in the wall. Speed into it and follow the pathway.

Slide Coliseum shortcut
There is a very sharp turn at Slide Coliseum. Get a Mask or Speed burst. Use the little hill as a ramp and jump over it. Drive straight and you will be at the end of the turn.

Tiger Temple shortcut
About half way through the Tiger Temple track is a face in a wall on the left. Shoot a missile, bomb, poison potion (fired forwards) at the mouth of the face, or have an Aku Aku/Uka Uka. The mouth will open and you can drive straight through a shortcut.

Defeating bosses
Do not stay directly behind a Boss to avoid getting hit by power-ups. A Boss cannot hit you if you are in front of him, so drive fast.

Power slides
Power slides are always good for any turn, but if L1 or R1 is held too long you will spin out and lose precious time

Polar Pass
There's a section of this level that can be skipped by jumping off a turbo pad. When entering the part of the level with the lake and a lot of turbo pads, on the first double pads move to the right. Jump to the right side off the turbo pads and hit the brakes when you get on land. If you do it correctly you can skip the whole part of the level with water

Get Boxes Off 
Keep pressing L1 and R1 and it gets bombs off of your back.

Cortex Castle Shortcut
Near the end of cortex castle there is a bit of track that does a hairpin turn all you need to do is get a mask or a speed booster and just before the ramp up press o and jump to the left you should land a bit of track in the air. This should nock off a lot of time and put you in first place.

Play as Komodo Joe
Enter at the Main Menu Screen while holding L1, R1, Down, O, left, left, triangle, down You'll hear a chime and you can play as K.JOE in arcade, vs., time trial, and battle mode. Submitted by J.M.

Play as PAPUPAPU:
At the Main Menu PAPUPAPU, press and hold L1 and R1. Press Left, Triangle, Right, Down, Right, Circle, Left, Left, Down.

Hot Air Skyway Shortcut
This is very difficult to do. So, in order to take this shortcut, enable super turbo pads (it doesn't hurt to have a mask or extra turbo). Then near the end of the lap there is a jump where you go under a blimp. If you look to the left of the jump you will see the start/finish line. All you have to do is go off the jump to the left and land at the finish line

Fire Missiles Backwards:
This trick has about a 75% chance of working when done correctly. When a driver is behind you (must be within sight), hold R2, down, and Circle to fire backwards.

Straight-Away Turbo:
If you've noticed that Oxide and N. Trophy get turbo boosts in the straight-away, there is a way to do it. When moving, start a power slide and use the d-pad to maneuver straight. When the smoke turns black hit L1 or R1 depending what you where sliding with.

Jump Over Missiles:
This is for experts. When the crosshair is on you use the arrows that moves in as an indicator. Right before they hit you, jump. You should be able to leap over the missile. The missile will explode anyways, but it won't hurt you

Unlimited Homing Missiles
Activate unlimited wumpa fruit and unlimited masks cheats. When you start a race get a little behind everyone. WATCH FOR RED POISON!! hit one without the mask activated. Then gather boxes until you get a homing missile with the 3 in the corner. If you do this you will have a never-ending supply of homing missiles

Super shortcut for Papu's Pyramid.
This shortcut may be very hard but can take up to 10 seconds off your lap time! Here it is: first don't take Oxide's first shortcut take the one that allows you to skip the annoying steps. Then do a huge jump and land on the short wall (You know the one that stops you from falling off the edge just before the home stretch.) Then jump off it and land in front of the finish line. It totally kicked Oxide's butt.

Better shortcut for Polar Pass
Just before the "jump from this island to that that one" part you will notice 2 thin Turbos. Make sure you enabled the Super Turbo pad cheat you should be able to go to the right and skip the islands.

Experts Only
In Hot Air Sky Way the first green turbo pad that you go on, if you usually go to the left of it then there is another way. You go to the right turbo pad and hit R1 and you will land on another way so that if your right by someone or someone is about to pass you then you can pass them, but you still need skill.

Tiger Temple Shortcut
If you get a bomb or a missile, save it until you see teeth on the left side of the speedway, then shoot it with bomb or missile. Instead of going ALL the way around you cut threw the middle.

A Cool Turbo
When on a (preferably long and curved) corner, do a power slide. But hit the "burst" button three times. Your third burst should be super fast.

A Better Cortex Castle Short Cut
This cheat works best with a juiced-up speed burst or mask. When you enter the bluish room after the stairs, turn left. You should see a ledge. Use your "weapon" here, and jump to the ledge. It takes practice, but is worth while.

Get Turbo Speed:
If you jump and hold in the jump button you should get turbo speed

Experts Only:
In Hot Air Sky Way the first green turbo pad that you go on, if you usually go to the left of it then there is another way. You go to the right turbo pad and hit R1 and you will land on another way so that if your right by someone or someone is about to pass you then you can pass them, but you still need skill.

Hint
