Asteroids

Play the Classic
Beat the first 15 stages in level one on single player mode. OR when Press Start appears at the title screen hold Select and press Circle(3), Triangle, Square(2), Circle . The sound of an exploding asteroid will confirm correct code entry. Press Start and select the "Classic Asteroids" option on the main menu.

Classic Mini Game Cheats
Invincibility-Press Down(2 times), Up(2 times), Circle, Square, Triangle(2 times).

Invincibility (Original Asteroids mini-game)
Pause the game and press Down(2), Up(2), Circle, Square, Triangle(2).

Extra Life
Press Up, Down, Left, Right, Circle, Square, X, Triangle.

99 Lives
Press Up, X, Down, Triangle, Left, Square, Right, Circle.

Excalibur Ship
When Press Start appears at the title screen hold Select and press Triangle, Circle(2), Triangle, Square, Circle, Square .

Cheat Options
When "Press Start" appears at the title screen, hold Select and press Square, Triangle, Circle, Triangle(2 times), Square, Circle. A exploding asteroid sound will confirm correct code entry. Then while playing a game, press Start + Select to display a cheat menu. Use the D-pad to select a new level and zone, as well as toggle collision detection. Press L1 to resume the game.

Hidden ship
At the title screen hold select and press Triangle, Circle, X2, Triangle, Square, Circle, Square.

Hidden Fourth Ship
At the title screen press and hold SELECT, then press Triangle, Circle, Circle, Triangle, Square, Circle, Square.

Hidden Forth Ship (the hard way)
Beat the game at expert or hardcore

Invincibility and Level Select
At the title screen press Square, Triangle, Circle, Triangle, Triangle, Square, Circle. To activate level select, press Start + Select while playing, then press L1 repeatedly until the desired level appears.

Armageddon
To get Armageddon without getting the power up simply hold the fire button for 5 seconds then release. This can be done in 2 player mode too.

Play Classic Asteroids (the hard way)
To get the original game you must go all the way through the first mission until you get to level 15. Once you get to level 15, continue to play but look for a greenish wire-frame asteroid to come into the screen.
Shoot the green asteroid and big words in green will appear on the screen letting you know the game is unlocked, but don't stop just yet. Finish level 15 and save your game so you can save the original version for fun.
