Strategy to defeat Ozma
Your party should consist of Zidane, Steiner, Amarant and either Garnet or Freya.
One side quest you should complete before attempting this fight is the Friendly
Monster side quest. If you complete this side quest before fighting Ozma, the
effects of his doomsday attack will be reversed! He would usually most likely
wipe you out and it would be Game Over, but if you complete the Friendly Monster
side quest, Ozma will be hit for 8000-9999 damage and all of your allies will
recover 8000-9999 Hp. He will cast curaga late in the battle and heal himself
whenever he has less than 10,000 Hp remaining, so hit him hard. I would also
recommend having the Ultima Weapon, Ragnarok, Rune Claws and either the Tiger
Racket or whatever Freya's Ultimate weapon is (I can't remember what his
ultimate weapon is). If you're lucky, when he has less than 10,000 Hp remaining,
he'll use Doomsday and kill himself, heal your allies fully and the battle will
be won! Have Garnet heal constantly throughout!
t the fight. If you choose to use Freya as the fourth member of your party, you
could try to go all-out, but be careful and have the right abilities before
going into the fight. You should equip Auto-Haste, Auto-Life, Auto-Regen, all
status-proof abilities and anything that will inflict more damage to him.

Early Add-On
To get a Moonstone before you leave Alexandria on Disc One, perform the play fight between Zidane and Blank perfectly (That is,
impress all 100 people in the audience and get Queen Brahne quite impressed - which, admittedly, is a little difficult to do).
You will receive 10000 Gil. Then, as Steiner when you're looking for the Pluto Knights, talk to Queen Brahne. Instead of the Silk
Shirt/Elixir, she'll give you the Moonstone. Of course, the Moonstone only teaches you Beast Killer and doesn't really do much for
your stats, but you can't really turn down 10000 Gil for nothing, can you?

If u want to kill a grand dragon easily just equip coral ring on them and
then the ability antibody. after that all you have to worry about is when the
dragon actually hits you. Just bring phoenix downs.

Easy Levels
For this code to work you will need the
Auto-Regen skill and a controller with rapid fire.
After you have the above set Auto-Regen active and enter an open field with
enemies your party will have little trouble defeating. Now hold either Left+L1
or Right+R1 and set your Circle button to rapid fire and hold it down. Now your
characters will run around in a perfect circle and automatically fight any
monsters they encounter. Try using tape, rubbers bands, etc to hold the buttons
down for you so you can leave the game to play on its own. Come back a few hours
later and your party should have increased at least a few levels
Memoria card masters
In Memoria, there are at least up to 6 card masters spirits. There are some
places that you go to and a icon will appear. Press square and you can play a

agree with the old man he will give you a meteor card. Also, in the room to the
right there will be a four armed man ,he will grade you for how many treasures
you have collected (well, called a treasure rank). If you have rank S he will
give you a key item. But, if you play a card game with him and win a few times
you can get rare cards, you can get these cards, Blue Narciss, Hilda Garde 1 and

4 Ways to Get the Robe Of Lords:
First way to get it is to play the Chocobo's Hot and Cold game and
earn 10,000 points and redeem the points for Robe Of Lords by talking to
the Mene the moogle
The second way is to go through the Stellazzio: Zodiac Coins side quest.
Give the 12th coin to Queen Stella and you will receive a Robe Of Lords as
your reward
The third way is to beat Hades and gain access to the Legendary Synthesis
Shop. You must have a White Robe, a Black Robe and 30,000 Gil to get a
Robe Of Lords.
The fourth way is to steal using Zidane. Bosses like Ozma and Hades carry
a Robe Of Lords. Equip Zidane's Master Thief ability, which can be learned
from using Thief Gloves (which can be bought in Treno's Auction House) and
Bandit ability, which could be learn from Mythril Dagger. Equip the N-Kai
Armlet to ensure that Zidane has a good chance of stealing successfully.
Getting lots of exp while in Olivert
When in olivert, a 98% chance that your going to fight this rocky guy (i cant
remember the name). Its the one that cast mirror. you have to hit him once, when he
does, it will knock out one of your characters. Keep them down, the mirror clone
will just kill them making you waste your phoenix downs. do not attack the rock. he
will cast another, and 1 more, making a total of 3 clones. after you fight the 3
clones (he can only make three) use a phoenix down on your character then kill the
rock. that way you can get lots of exp, and save your 'downs'.

Spanking the Bosses
One solid strategy will carry you through most of the
boss encounters in Final Fantasy IX. Zidane remains your main attacker through
most of the game, so dish out the damage with our tailed hero. Eiko and Dagger
are integral to your party, offering healing and Eidolon spells. Having one of
these gals is crucial; using both simultaneously is a good idea if you require a
lot of healing. Vivi should be casting his strong elemental spells, and if he's
teamed with Steiner, you can unleash powerful Magic Sword attacks. Steiner,
Freya and Amarant are good muscle, and Quina is strong both physically and with
Blue Magic. A solid all-purpose party would be Zidane, Dagger, Steiner and Vivi.
If you can equip High Tide before the battles begin, you can increase your
chances for Trance. Below are more tips to help you through the individual
bosses
Easy way to beat the Soulcage boss

Invulnerable Sentinel
this is a car my bro helped me figure out. In the dead skunk in the trunk
mission go up to the red sentinel (ferreli bro. number 1) in front of the
restraint near the designated car. blow the car with the corpse in it up to fail
the mission and before the sentinel pulls away boost it and now the only way it
can be destroyed is if you flip it or put it in the garage.
Evil Forest Boss: Plant Brain
Plant Brain
Strong Attacks: Pollen, Thunder
Steal: Iron Helm
Strategy: It's your first major boss battle, so get ready. Have Vivi cast Fire
and Steiner use Fire Sword magic. Zidane should attack with his sword. Plant
Brain will cast Thunder to significantly weaken everybody, and just before he
can finish you off, Blank arrives to lend a hand. Heal everybody and just keep
blasting away with fire and swords.
Cleyra Bosses: Antlion and Beatrix
Antlion
Strong Attacks: Fira, Sandstorm, Trouble Mucus
Steal: Mythril Vest
Strategy: Have Freya perform her Lancer attack to reduce Antlion's MP. Vivi
should cast Thundara and have Zidane attack normally.
Beatrix
Strong Attacks: Shock (HUGE damage)
Steal: Phoenix Down
Strategy: This time, the battle against Beatrix can be downright fatal. Have
Zidane attack and steal as usual while Freya uses Lancer and Vivi casts Thundara.
Keep a close eye on your HP. If you can afford to, take a turn to use a potion.
The battle is over when Beatrix uses Shock Break.
Alexandria Bosses: Zorn & Thorn and Beatrix
Zorn & Thorn Strong Attacks: Fira, Blizzara Weak
Against: Ice (Thorn), Fire (Zorn) Steal: Mythril Armor (Thorn), Partisan (Zorn)
Strategy: Thorn is the red one, Zorn is the blue one. You only have to defeat
one to win the battle, so focus all damage on whichever you choose. Make sure to
steal items from both, however. Thorn will attack with fire magic and Zorn with
ice magic. Neutralize their charging with Vivi's spells: casting Fira on Zorn or
Blizzara on Thorn will bring them down quickly. Freya should again use Lancer
and Zidane should be attacking physically when not dispensing potions. Overall,
it's not a difficult battle, so be sure to steal from both.
Beatrix
Strong Attacks: Shock, Climhazzard
Steal: Survival Vest
Strategy: This is the third battle against Beatrix. Have Vivi and Steiner
combine for Thundara Sword, and have Freya use Jump and Lancer. Zidane should
steal, heal and attack. Once you weaken her enough, Beatrix will break out the
Climhazzard and end the battle.
Mountain Path Boss: Hilgigars
Hilgigars
Strong Attacks: Earthquake, Curaga
Steal: Phoenix Down
Strategy: Zidane should, as usual, attack with sword. Have Dagger dish out
healing spells and one or two Ramuh summons. Test out Eiko's Fenrir summon and
have her cast Cura if Dagger is doing something else. Since you now have two
white magic users in your party, you're a little low on attack power, so have
Vivi cast his strong elemental attacks while one of the white mages keeps an eye
on his MP usage.
Iifa Tree Boss: Soulcase
Soulcase
Strong Attacks: LV5 Death, Mustard Bomb
Steal: Oak Staff
Strategy: Make absolutely sure that none of your characters are at a level
that's divisible by 5, because Soulcase's LV5 death will wipe them out. Dagger
should shell the entire party and summon Ramuh. Have Zidane hack away and Vivi
cast Fira. Eiko should summon Carbuncle to cast Reflect on the entire party and
then call up Phoenix to fry Soulcase. Keep Vivi and Zidane healthy, and the
battle shouldn't take too long.
Kuja's Desert Castle Boss: Ark
Ark
Strong Attacks: Boomerang, Whirlwind, Propeller Wind, Photon
Steal: Elixir
Strategy: This one is rough, due to Propeller Wind attack, which causes
Confusion. Before the battle, enable Clear-Headed on as many characters as you
can to prevent a lot of grief. Keep healing, summoning, casting and attacking
(and pray for a Trance for Zidane).
Terra Boss: Pandemonium (White Dragon, Garland, Kuja)
White Dragon
Strong Attacks: Aerial Slash, Twister, Shockwave
Strategy: Vivi should be casting his high level elemental spells, with Thundaga
having a somewhat better effect. Have Steiner alternate between regular attacks
and Thundaga Sword to conserve MP.
Garland
Strong Attacks: Flare, Stop
Steal: N/A
Strategy: Garland will stomp all over you by casting flare and the occasional
Stop spell. Make sure you heal against Stop immediately and continue having Vivi
cast powerful elemental spells. Knock him around for about 32000 HP and you
should be good to go.
Kuja
Strong Attacks: Demi, Thundaga, Firaga, Blizzaga
Steal: Carabini Mail
Strategy: Just stick to the plan: attack, heal, summon and repeat.
The Place of Memories Bosses: Nova Dragon, Maliris,
Tiamat, Kraken and Lich
Nova Dragon
Strong Attacks: Shockwave, Aerial Slash, Tidal Wave
Steal: N/A
Strategy: Thundaga, Thundaga Sword, Summon, Heal. Rinse and repeat until
victory.
Maliris
Strong Attacks: Raining Swords Suicide
Steal: Masamune, Ultima Sword, Genji Armor
Strategy: This one absorbs fire, so stay away from Vivi's fire spells and don't
try summoning Ifrit. If he likes fire so much, I bet he doesn't like Blizzaga.
Make sure you have enough HP left when you win, because Maliris is a sore loser.
She'll cast Raining Swords Suicide before she kicks it, so prepare for the
worst.
Tiamat
Strong Attacks: Jet Fire, Absorb Strength, Twister
Steal: Grand Helm, Feather Boots, Blood Sword
Strategy: They keep getting tougher and tougher, and this one hits early and
hits hard. Jet Fire and Twister will wreak major havoc on your party, so make
sure the white mage is working overtime. Use cold spells, physical attacks and
Bahamut/Shiva summons.
Kraken
Strong Attacks: Waterga
Steal: Glutton's Robe, Wizard Rod, Genji Helmet
Strategy: Another tough fight. Stick to the game plan, using mainly fire
attacks.
Lich
Strong Attacks: LV5 Death, Life Cutter, Death, Doom, Earth Shake, Earthquake
Steal: Siren's Flute, Black Robe, Genji Helmet
Strategy: Okay, now you're in serious trouble. Lich can cast LV5 Death (check
your levels), Death (which is instant), Doom (Death in 10 seconds) and two
powerful earth spells. Stay clam, keep casting Life (equip Auto-Life,
Auto-Potion and High Tide beforehand), Cura, Eidolons, Sword Magic (Firaga,
preferably), and hopefully get multiple Trance sessions. This guy is tough, but
he's still beatable. We've done it.
The Crystal World Boss: Deathguise
Deathguise
Strong Attacks: Meteor, Spin (big damage, very fast)
Steal: N/A
Strategy: Deathguise will hit you with Meteor and Spin right away, likely
knocking out at least one member of your party. He'll eventually calm down. When
he does, have Dagger cast Protect and Shell on the party (Protect, Shell and
Haste if it's Eiko). Blizzaga is particularly effective as well. After you win,
make sure to go back and save your game before taking on the final boss.
The Final Battle: Trance Kuja, Necron (and Hades)
Trance Kuja
Strong Attacks: Holy, Flare, Flare Star, Curaga
Steal: N/A
Strategy: Kuja is really fast, but he cannot do too much damage to you. Just
keep healing and throwing everything you have at him and you'll prevail. At the
end of the battle, Kuja casts Ultima on everyone, including himself. You get a
chance to change party members and equipment before moving on to
Necron
Strong Attacks: Grand Cross, Blue Shockwave, Neutron Ring
Steal: N/A
Strategy: The second and final boss is a challenge, but you can nullify his most
damaging attack by turning on all of your preventive status abilities. He'll
come out hitting hard with Grand Cross, Neutron Ring and the most annoying
attack in the entire game (or at least it seems like it at that point), Blue
Shockwave. Grand Cross is especially dangerous because it can cause all sorts of
status effects on your party, so make sure you have the proper magic stones in
place before starting the fight. If at all possible, make sure Zidane is in a
position to Trance during the battle, his Grand Fatal hits for 9999 damage every
time. Blue Shockwave will reduce your HP to 1, and Necron tends to do this right
after hitting you with a Grand Cross or a devastating Neutron Ring. It is
absolutely essential that your white magic user is constantly dishing out the
Curas and Curagas, and Remedies should be applied after every casting of Grand
Cross. Your physical attackers should be wailing away, and the magic users
casting the top-shelf spells every turn. Eiko's Holy spell does an absurd amount
of damage to Necron. A good way to cause tremendous damage is to have Garnet
summon a powerful Eidolon like Ark while she is Tranced. Every successive turn
afterwards, the spell will continue to hit Necron. If you manage to survive,
you'll be rewarded with a lengthy (and satisfying) ending sequence.
Congratulations!
Hades
Strong Attacks: Curse, Die Hard
Steal: N/A
Strategy: This boss is also lurking in the final dungeon, but fighting him is
completely optional. Hades is much harder than Necron, so you may need to gain
some levels before you can defeat him. Eiko is invaluable during this fight, as
her Madeen and Holy spells obliterate this infernal specter.
Ten Things You Must Do in FF IX
1. Try to keep track of the Moogles' names on Mognet. It
makes delivering their mail much easier.
2. Remember to keep funding Stiltzkin. If you continue to purchase his special item packages, he begins stocking better goods.
3. As Zidane, steal whenever you can. You can snatch really great weapons and armor from most bosses. You can use Zidane's Detect ability to see what enemies have.
4. Always keep an eye on the progress of your Abilities. Switch equipment as soon as you have mastered all the skills offered by each weapon, suit of armor or accessory.
5. Visit Chocobo's Forest and keep your Gysahl Greens well-supplied. Riding across the vast fields saves you from fighting incessant battles.
6. For the sake of the story, check out every Active Time Event you come across. You will gain deep insight into many different characters this way.
7. Heal all status abnormalities before the next battle, as many of these maladies linger until you imbibe the correct potion.
8. Defeat the optional Book Boss in the Alexandria Castle Library to gain the Running Shoes, an invaluable item that teaches your characters the Auto-Haste ability.
9. Expand Quina's Blue Magic library by trying to eat every enemy you encounter.
10. When exploring in the field and in towns, keep an eye out for exclamation points and question marks. Every secret in the game is conveniently labeled with one of these handy punctuation marks
How to change the costumes
When in the ice cavern if you beat the giant
monster that the little man summons before the man without using magic the man
will give up and will give you an item and run away when you get to deli village
and in the hotel you can get changed in to a different costume.

Ozma : FFIX's Omega Weapon
message: Think the final boss, Necron is a
push over??? Wait till you have a taste of Ozma, the most powerful creature in
FFIX. You may have to complete some side quests first. First, you have a gold Chocobo
to have access to Chocobo's Air Garden. Go there and ride Choco to the
back islet. When you examine the eidolon grave, Mene warns you about something
dangerous there and you get a few chances to back out. So fight it when you're
ready. You may need the Ultima weapon and Ragnarok. Don't forget to equip
Antibody and Clear-Headed and armour that protects Shadow damage. Ozma is weak
against wind an holy. Lastly, this boss got 4 great items to steal. I'm not
going to spoil the fun but I tell you they're very rare and worth the few turns
spending to steal .Submitted by Manuel24

Renaming Characters
Tired of that stupid name, Zidane??? Don't
press that reset button because there is an easier way. You can obtain a card
called, Namingway Card, from Mario during the card tournament in Treno or inside
Kuja's room during the sequence in the Desert Palace. Take the card to Daguerreo
(South-West of wind shrine where there a bridge leading into a cave in the
mountains) and talk to the man roaming the library on the mid level. He will ask
to see the card and then be inspired to rename your characters for you.

Fighting the soul cage
When you are fighting the soul cage (the guy in the
lifa tree) to beat him in one turn simply cast life on hi. Since he is undead he
will automatically die. This works with all undead monsters to.
Fighting the Soul of the Ancient Tree of
Life:
When fighting the Soul of the Ancient Tree of Life, never use a Fire spell. If
this is done, it will counter-attack your entire party with this Fire magic or
do an attack that can deal over 700 HP of damage. Instead, use others spells
such as Ice 2 or Bolt 2, which can do some very heavy damage on him.
Tonberry card:
When you first reach Treno ask the women in the weapon shop if you can fight the
monster under the floor. If you beat it you will receive the tonberry card
Hint
With Quina, eat everything, anything on the
battle field. You never know what kind of awesome blue magic you're going to
learn
Hint
A lot of the strategy guides for FF9 say that
the best team for the whole game is Vivi, Steinwell, Dagger and obviously Zidane.
I could see that this is a powerful team. But with Quina, it is a yet more
powerful team. Quina's Blue Magic abilities come in useful anytime, anywhere.
For example, his Mighty Guard, one of the best magic in the game, is always
affective. His White wind ability cures all of your party members. Although he
doesn't have the powerful summon attacks, his magic can be as powerful at times.
With Vivi, Steinwell, Zidane and Quina on your team, you will be invincible. To
be TRULY invincible though, you should have (Auto-Regen) on everyone. THEN,
you're really set for good. Nevertheless, the perfect party for you might be
different. Trace Kuja and the last guy was incredibly easy for me with this
team.
Hint
For the final 2 bosses, you should be at least
level 50. You should actually be more than that, from all the exp you get in
Memoria. With level 50 and up, your perfect party, with Auto-Regen, Auto-Haste,
Auto-Reflect, nothing will stop you from blowing Kuja and the other dude away.
Renaming Characters
To do this you must have the Namingway Card. You can get this card during the
card tournament in Treno if you go against Mario or you can find it in Kuja's
Palace (it's in the room where he is always in by the couch). Once you have the
Namingway Card go to Daggereo and get to the middle floor. Here you will find a
man who wants to see the card and will rename your characters after seeing the
card.
Jump rope mini-game
Have Vivi approach the girls jumping rope near the
ticket both in Alexandria. Talk to them and they will let Vivi join them.
Press X when the symbol appears over Vivi's head to jump. Keep jumping
successfully to get Gil, rare cards, and other items.
Different Ending
If you get all the stellazio coins you get a hammer from the queen. If you keep
it until you beat the final boss you get a different ending in which something
entirely different happens.
How to Defeat the Grand Dragons
Grand Dragons are found above Gzamalukes's Grotto in the plains. Have each party
member equipped with a Coral Ring to absorb the thunderaga spell. Also have a
lot of Phoenix Downs because at the start, his physical attacks will kill you in
one hit, and if your not immune to poison, bring a lot of antidotes. Happy
hunting!
Optional Boss
On the 3rd disc after the card tournament, in Alexandria castle on top of the
book shelf you can see a book on top of the bookshelf it will say something
like, "Face me if you dare" say yes and you will be able too fight
Tantarion an optional boss
Life's a Beach
When you finally find all the treasures in the chocobo side quest, (including
all the chests, underwater ones [the bubbling places], and the land ones [those
crumbly cave like thingy's you have to use a dead pepper on]), when you go back
to chocobo's paradise and challenge the fat chocobo to a card game, he will say
something about visiting all the beaches in the world. If you then go to every
beach and press the circle button on them, you'll hear a chiming sound. (just
follow the coast of every continent, but be careful there are one or two little
islands with a beach on them). Once you visited them all, you'll get some
message like "You've watched the waves all around the world and
relaxed." From now on you can visit any beach, and when you press circle,
all your character's HP, and MP are restored. It even restores KO'd characters
back to life. Just remember, when searching for beaches, Zidane must be OFF his
chocobo for the chiming sound to work.
All the Experience
This is just a trick in order to have one of your players have the most exp
while in vile island. All you have to do is put some viruses on your comrades except
the one you want to level up, because while you have a virus you can't gain any
exp butt you can kick butt at the same time, w/c will make those levels keep
going up.
Level Ups in FF9
Have Chubs in your party and make sure he has level 5. death, this spell kills
grand dragons instantly.
Mognet Central:
If you like to deliver mail from moggle to moggle you will at some point hear
about mognet central. Its located at Vile Island. Go there on choco and walk
around the mountain until you see a crack. Use dead pepper on it and you will be
in mognet central.
Other endings
End the game with the "Zeus Hammer" and/or
the "Save The Queen" in your inventory to get additional endings.
Infinite MP
Have Amarant in your party and make sure he has
learned the Chakra skill. Also, the minimum MP needed for this trick to work
is 4 MP. Enter a battle and have Amarant cast Chakra on himself. For 4 MP, he
will restore MP equivalent to about 20% of his maximum MP. Continually cast it
until you have reached your maximum MP. You can also do this to all other
characters in the party as well.
Easy AP
Walk around in the darkness for awhile in the field
and forests around the town that has the auction house and lady who collects
the zodiac signs. You will encounter a ghost. Give it some ore and you will
win the battle, resulting in 10 AP.
Jump Rope Trick
At the beginning of the game when Vivi comes into the town square you will see a
group of three small girls playing jump-rope in the upper left hand corner. You
can play as well and gain very rare items in the beginning of the game. However,
this is very hard to do as the jump rope escalates to a speed of mammoth
proportions. A simple trick to this is to press X as soon as Vivi's feet touch
the ground (When you hear the thump of his feet against the ground.). If you do
this right, no matter how fast the jump-rope goes you can always jump it.
Special Chocobos
After you acquire Choco in chocobo forest start looking for chocographs in the
'Chocobo hot and cold game'. Some of the treasure sprays gas out at you instead
of treasure. You'll be transported to the "chocobo dream world" there
a fat chocobo will grant you new abilities. The abilities are: shallow water
crossing, mountain crossing, ocean crossing, and the flight abilities (you need
dead peppers to fly). You get new abilities every time you go to the dream
world. Don't forget to go to 'chocobo lagoon', 'chocobo paradise', and the
chocobo air base.
2 Player Mode
First, pause the game (so the menu comes up). Next, go to the CONFIG option and
go to battle control. Set it to custom and push X. You now control who second
player plays
How to get the Grand Dragon Card
Just defeat the Grand Dragon with your level is 71 and up or you will be killed.
Get To Hades In Under 12 Playing Hours
1. Skip the FMVs by opening the disc cover and closing it again.
2. Skip ATEs. However, if the ATEs cannot be avoided, get rid of it quickly by
following step 3.
3. During dialogue sequences, mash the X button! You'll get sore fingers but
hey, you can get to Hades!
4. Forget about Side Quests. Do them later after you beat Hades.
5. Before buying, SAVE. then got to the shop. Pick the items you are going to
buy, then reset the game
(L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Select + Start). Load the game again, and
quickly buy the desired items.
6. Learn the High Tide Ability. This will help in defeating bosses (especially
Zidane's Grand Lethal Attack).
7. Don't worry if you can't get the game under 12 hours! REMEMBER: THIS IS JUST
A GAME!
Friendly Monsters
Give all 9 monsters what they're looking for to get AP in return and this also
enables you to deal physical attacks to the boss on chocobos flying island. They
are found only in this order.
Brown Mu: Plains

White Ghost: Plains around Trueno, wants 1 ore, gives 10ap

Rosetta Ring
Princess Garnet's REALl Name:
This should be done on Disc 4. First, form a party with dagger in it and go to
Mardain Sari and go to Eiko's back porch. There you'll find Lani. She'll run
away when she notices you. Now leave the village and go to the world map and
form a party that excludes Dagger and Amarant. Talk to Lani and after reading
what she has to say, go to the Eidlon wall and walk clockwise all the way around
until you get to the door again. Go just pass the "!" and you should
hear a chime. Now go counterclockwise just pass the "!" at the door
again. Do this 9 times and you should see a message that says "HP and MP
restored. Abnormal status removed. Now read ALL the messages on the wall. The
order you read them in doesn't matter. Just make sure you read them all or it
wont work. Now go to the Ifrit picture and you'll see the "!". In the
message, you'll see Dagger's True name.
Quan's Dwelling Reunion
If you take Vivi and Quina to Quan's Dwelling, you get a short movie sequence.
After that, go to the balcony and examine the clock to get a partially rare
item, the running shoes.
Easy experience
Use Quina's level 5 Death spell against the level 60
Grand Dragons on the outside of Gizamalike's Grotto for around 8,800
experience per person. Equip the quick level gain support ability (level up)
for even more. Also, remember to take Coral Rings to protect against the
Dragon's Thundaga spell.
Quan's Dwelling Reunion
If you take Vivi and Quina to Quan's Dwelling, you get a short movie sequence.
After that, go to the balcony and examine the clock to get a partially rare
item, the running shoes.
Morrids coffee
The three coffees for Morrid are in these locations:
Mocha Coffee: Next to the restorative spring in South Gate where you see the
Tantalus Crew in an ATE
Kirman Coffee: In Eiko's kitchen, Madain Sari
Burman Coffee: In the card tournament section, go to Dali. Search the desk in
the mayors house until the kid says 'zzz'. Then search the stove for the 'Mayors
Key'. Use this on the door in the windmill and search the chest twice for some
gil and the coffee.
Take the coffee to Morrid before you go to Terra and the 'Mini Prima-Vista' will
turn up in the Tantalus hideout in Lindblum. It will raise your treasure hunter
rank. You can find out your rank by talking to the 4-armed man in Daguerreo.
When you get to rank S he will give you the 'Rank S award' key item.
The Excalibur Sword
The Excalibur Sword is Steiners 2nd strongest weapon. If you are not able to get
to the Memoria in 12 hours you should get this sword (If your getting confused
with the Excalibur swords, -the Excalibur 2 is Steiners strongest sword and the
Excalibur is his 2nd strongest sword). You can get it by going to the town of
Daggereo and talking to the old man by the Libarian. He will ask you to get him
the "Magicians Fingertip." You can only get the Magicians Fingertip in
Treno in the Auction House. You must first get 4 items. I can't remember them
right now but get the items that you have never heard of. Eventually you can get
the Magicians Fingertip. After getting it go back to the old man in Daggereo. He
will ask you if you will give it to him. Say "yes." He will then say
something about his wife then give you the Excalibur in return. There now this
sword is the 2nd strongest for Steiner and it allows you to learn the ability
"Climhazzard." This is a very good attack.
Easy Exp. & AP Early in the Game
After you defeat the Plant Brain, allow the Plant Spiders to attack you. They
are easy to kill, as Zidane, Steiner and Blank can kill them in one hit, and
Vivi can dispatch them with one Fire or Thunder blast. By staying in the middle
of the screen, you also have enough time to go into your inventory and use
Potions and Ethers as needed. Do this to easily gain a few levels, as well as
gain the AP needed for your abilities. If you stole an Iron Helm from the Plant
Brain, Steiner can level up even more, as it grants the Level Up ability.
Ultimecia Strategy
I had Squall, Rinoa and Quistis in my team. All were level 100 with their
best weapons: Lionheart, Save the Queen and Shooting Star. Rinoa would use
Combine continuously until she got INVINCIBLE MOON! Then I would use Squall's
limit breaks, and hoped he'd get Lionheart. Quistis: Blue Magic, inc: Homing
Laser and Mighty Guard. (To keep up Limits etc) I would then cast Doomtrain (not
on Grevier, cause he absorbs it!) Eden, and my other summons. BUT it really
stinks because your gf's get blown away by ULTIMECIA's final form. I then let
Rinoa have Angel Wing, by the time we were down to the final form. Auto Potion,
Shell and Protect are needed to win
Vivi: the white mage
In the last battles (Trance Kuja and Necron), it isn't necessary to have a white
mage (Eiko or Dagger), Vivi can heal your party.
To do this, first you need Zidane, Vivi, Amarant and Steiner. You need to equip
Zidane, Vivi and Amarant with armor that absorbs shadow damage. You can't equip
Steiner, because there isn't any armor that absorbs shadow damage. Then, have
Amarant use Aura on Steiner, aura casts auto-life and regen on one target, and
then have Vivi use doomsday. It will heal Zidane,Vivi, and Amarant by 9999, do
about 5000-7000 damage to the enemy, and kill Steiner. But, Aura kicks in and
Revives Steiner.
Hint
In the beginning of the game Baku will ask who to
kidnap and if you say Queen Brahne 64 times then Ruby will come in and say
something! Also, when battling Necron I do suggest you have Quina catch over 100
frogs and use frog drop against him every turn. Freya should also be in your
party and she should use Dragon's Crest. Make sure Freya and Quina know all
their support abilities like locomotion and clearheaded.
Submitted by Nargis
Hint
If you want to know how to defeat Trance Kuja and
Necron easy listen up! Have Quina, Freya, Vivi and Eiko all at level 66.During
these battles have Freya use Dragons Crest over and over again because it does
the same amount of damage each time no matter what, this attack does 9,999
damage. Then Quina should have caught around 130 frogs and should know Frog Drop
and White Wind. Quina should use Frog Drop, which should do about 7500 damage,
and then when it's Quina'a turn to attack again have her use White Wind. Have
Vivi use the support abilities Reflect, Reflectx2, and Auto Regen. Have Vivi use
Flare on himself every time he attacks and it will hit whatever Boss your
fighting. Eiko should also know the support abilities Auto-Life, Reflect, and
Auto Regen. Have Eiko equiped with the Magic Racket and have her use Holy on
Vivi and it will do damage to the Boss. Freya should wear Grand Armor or Genji
Armor. Have her also use Genji Helmet. If you want more success I suggest you
have Freya know Auto-Regen.VERY IMPORTANT:WHEN FIGHTING NECRON MAKE SURE FREYA,
VIVI, QUINA, AND EIKO USE EVERY SUPPORT ABILITY THAT PREVENTS STUFF LIKE PETRIFY
AND CONFUSION! I have tried to do this routine on Ozma except of Quina in ypur
party have Zidane and with the Ultima Weapon which can be found where the
Shimmering Island used, but the results vary. Out of the twenty times I fought
Ozma using this routine I won 9 times.

This is just a Tip Submitted by Rayappan Savarimuthu
I have noticed many of the
gamers who have submitted hints and cheats have not mentioned some of the useful Abilities which can dish out maximum damage. I will list out a few of
the characters and their abilities.
ZIDANES: Thievery(8mp) - cause max physical damage
(9,999) and can be used on all the enemies.
QUINA'S: Frog Drop(10mp) - amount of depends on the
number of frogs she/he has caught (hint 100+ gets you max damage)
AMARANT: No Mercy(12mp) - Non Elemental damage
(depending on his level can major damage)
VIVI: Flare(40) - Non elemental damage (later in disc
3) cause major damage
EIKO: Holy(36mp) - cause Holy damage
GARNET: The more Jewels you collect - i.e. Opal, Topaz, Peridot, Amethyst, Aquamarine and Garnet, this will enable you to see each of the Eidolons and also increase the max damage inflicted. As for Odin (dark matter), you'll need "Odin's Sword", (which can be learned from using Ancient Aroma), support ability (disc 3), to cause any serious damage to your enemies. As for Ark, after your fight with Hades disc 4) you need him to synthesis it for you. Using two Pumice pieces, to get Pumice and she'd learn Ark. Hope you guys find the above tips useful.
Hippaul's Secret Card
When Dagger becomes queen and you get to roam around Alexandria. Go to the
steeple and climb the ladder and ring the bell and you will get Hippaul's
special card collection
Race Hippaul:
You should race Hippaul because if you win at certain times, his mom will
give you cards such as the Tiger Racket. To do so, you need to be at the
beginning of disc 3. At some point, you will have to go to the underground
theater, the place where Puck stole the ladder in disc 1. DON'T GO YET! You
will have control of Vivi. You should start off where you started in the
beginning. Look to your left. Hippaul and his mom should be there. Talk to
both of them a few times. Then talk to his mom and she'll ask you if you
want to race. Say yes. And there you go. *NOTE* This will get harder and
harder every time you win. And you will only get cards if his level ends
with a 0 (20, 30 etc.). You will get more rare cards as his level goes up.
If you can't get the cards you want, just give up! It's only a game (or
unless you use the GameShark, of course).
Chocobo Paradise:
Get a flying chocobo and a dead pepper. Fly to the top left corner of the
map land on the island. On the island (grass) you can fight atamantoise and
(forest) worm hydras. Use the dead pepper on the crack in the mountain, it
will say a crack crumbled and you will go in. Mene comes but fat chocobo
tells you both to go away. (NOTE you and choco stay) (NOTE you can get
chocobo cards off fat chocobo(HP:0P00) (NOTE talk to the other chocobo's to
get more info) (NOTE you can only go in on choco).
Infinite Money:
In chocobo paradise there is a chocobo that gives you all his dead peppers.
Sell them and come back. Continue doing this and you will have infinite money.
Don't Let Hades Escape Your Malice:
If you didn't reach Hades in Memoria before the 12 hour mark you can still
fight him and use his synthesist shop by beating Ozma in the chocobo air
garden any time in the game then go to the room where Quina thinks she is swimming
and take the path behind the coral mashing the X button to find him.
Easy Escape:
Note: this cheat doesn't work on bosses
Simply let Vivi use a long spell like Fira. In the mean while, press L1 and R1
to escape. Once Vivi is done with it's attack, you'll be escaped!
This cheat doesn't work always but at least 95% of the time!
Easy Money Gaining:
Go to a synthesize shop and make a pretty good weapon. Sell it in a weapon
shop and you'll gain much more money than you've paid to synth the item! You
can use this cheat limitless so you'll be rich!
TIPS
- Always take Eiko in your party when you're able to choose your party. She
has Eidolons that may be useful (such as Carbuncle or Phoenix)
- Always accept Siltzkin's offers to buy some items for a few Gil. Some of
them are very rare!
- First let Eiko learn Phoenix because it is very useful against the powerful
monsters in the Outer Continent (witch easily K.O. a party member).
- Save at every Moogle! You might simply run into a tough boss fight. (Like
Gizamaluke, you won't expect you'll have to fight him!)
We Don't Want to Play With You Anymore, Zidane:
It's hardly a cheat, but if you're tired of Zidane by the end of the game,
and, for whatever reason, you feel he's an underpowered and overrated thief
(Which he ultimately IS) you don't have to fight with him against Necron.
That's right! Use that Killer party you've been dying to! Just highlight
Zidane during the character selection screen right before Necron and move him
over to the waiting area and replace him with your favorites.
Want to Get Most of Beatrix's Item Really Easy:
(On Disk 3) You only need an EXTRA of ANY of Steiner's WEAK HAT, WEAK ARMOR,
and WEAK GLOVES. On disk 3, when Alexandria is about to be destroyed by Kuja.
Beatrix and Steiner will fight together to battle some bug monster. Before you
battle anyone. Press start, then equip, then to Beatrix. Replace Beatrix hat,
armor, and gloves with any of Steiner's extra stuff. (I just forgot what you
will get). Its too bad that you cannot get the "Save The Queen" sword.
Warning: Don't equip Beatrix with Important items, because I think when
Steiner and Beatrix fight together, I think that's the last time you will have
the control of her. YOU'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO GET YOUR ITEM BACK, that's why it
says equip Beatrix with weak and invaluable items.
Quadriple Vivi's Magic Power:
Have Eiko use Carbuncle and get Vivi to use a black magic that can target all
characters and MUST be reflect able, such as Bio or Thundaga. Then cast it
onto your characters. It will reflect onto the enemy with 4X the power.
Meteor, Comet or doomsday Wont work because they don't reflect.
How to use Doomsday to Your Advantage:
You can learn Vivi's magic doomsday with the mace of Zeus (it can be find in
memoria). When you cast it and the huge dark meteor impacts, it will damage
your enemies and your party members by 9999. But if you equip your party with
something that absorbs darkness based magic (like pumice piece, ninja gear, or
egoist's armlet) it will restore your characters' HP and damage your enemies
by 9999, making doomsday the most powerful magic to YOUR advantage.
Get Ark
The guy that wrote "don't let Hades escape your
malice" is an idiot. He forgot to tell that if you bring two Pumice Pieces to
Hades's synth shop ,they can make the Pumice witch allows Dagger to learn how
to summon Ark (the most powerful eidolon).
Get Odin
When Queen Brahne dies, Dagger will receive the
eidolons that were stolen from her. But wait a minute...Odin is missing!!!.
Don't worry about that, all you have to do is go to the Auction in Treno (in
disc 4) and buy the Dark Matter, which will make Dagger learn how to summon
Odin. He can kill every enemy, including Grand Dragons and Mistodons, so...
what the heck are you waiting for!!! go buy Odin!
Late to The Party
You don't have to make it to Memoria in under 12
hours to fight Hades. I didn't make it to him for nearly sixty-five hours
(Like any good gamer should) the first time I played and I still whipped his
ass and got Pumice AND Tin Armor. The only thing that matters is fighting him
immediately after you find him, otherwise, you can't challenge him again
Fight that Boss Monster
First go to the Lifa Tree at the bottom of it comes a
big monster give it an elixir and will die
Best weapons:
These weapons are the characters strongest:
Zidane: ultima weapon you have to take the bleu chocobo first, then go to were
shimmering island used to be and use a dead pepper and you will find ultima
weapon in the treasure.
Vivi : mace of zeos
in memoria by the left side of the stairs.
Freya: kain's lance
at the right side of memorias entrance.
Quina: gastro fork
cath 99 frog and Quale will challenge you for a match, if you defeat Quale he
will give you quinas best weapon.
Eiko + Dagger: tiger racket
if you have got any dead pepper, go to quan's dwelling and use dead pepper in
the window were Vivi was found and you will find tiger racket in the treasure.
Jaffar (the one who was send to kill Zidane and Garnet): rune claws it's in
some where in memoria i don't know where but it is there.
Easy way to defeat ozma:
My way is very easy you even don't need to get your character's level very
high to lv 60,70 or even 50 is good enough.
Before the match:
If you want to defeat Ozma you need Steiner,Zidane,Freya and Quina in your
party members, you have to get ultima weapon for Zidane, there is no need for
any Excalibur for Steiner because ragnarok is enough either, equip demon's
mail on both of Steiner and Freya, demon's vest for zidane and pumice piece
for quina, make sure every body have got auto life clear headed, antibody,
bright eyes equipped in there ability, and the match will be easier if you
equip bandit, mug, master thief on Zidanes ability either.
In the match:
Keep stealing by Zidane untle you take every thing Ozma have then keep using
Thievery, Freya use Dragon's crest, Steiner use shock and Quina use Mighty
Guard and auto life for every one dies, if Ozma use dreaded Curse let Quina
use his Angel's snack. keep using Zidans thievery, Freyas Dragon's crest,
Steiners shock and keep giving your characters auto life if it has gone by
Quinas auto life and if nobody need auto life or Mighty Guard use frog drop,
believe me you won't need a lot of time to defeat Ozma by the way.
Friendly Spirits:
Throughout the game you will find some friendly
spirits, they will ask you for something like a ore or Emerald, Give it to
them because they will reward you with loads of AP (from 10 to 50!) You can
tell when you find a friendly spirit because the music is different. Here's
where to find them: Submitted by Thomas Shields
Brown Mu: Plains between Ice cavern and Dali village
White ghost: Plains around treno
Colour ladybug:
Forest around black mage village
Green yeti: Largest forest outside of Madain Sari
Green Nymph: Forest near

Purple Jabberwock: Forest east of Deilvert
Green feather circle: Plains of Lost continent, near
chocobo tracks
Rainbow Garuda: Forest above secret entrance to
Gizmalukes Grotto
Friendly Yan: Vile Island Forest
By the way can someone tell me how to beat up The dragon, Trance Kuja and Necron
Change Clothes
In the ice cavern when you reach the part where you fight black walts no.
1 and the sea lion, first you beat the sea lion, then black walts no. 1 will
give you an item and then you can change into you're new clothes.

Advanced Fighting Techniques
When fighting Soulcage in FFIX, you already know not
to use fire magic because it will cause him to light on fire, leading to
fire-based attacks that strike the entire party. If you cast an Ice spell on
him, though, it will put out his fire. So, this is a reversible mistake to
make.
Not only this, but I had Vivi use 'Drain' when his HP were low and Vivi died.
Wait, inverted damage/regeneration when using drain spell? This is a symptom
of... Undead status? That's right: Soulcage is an undead creature, therefore
you can kill him instantly by having Eiko or Dagger cast 'Life' on him. (I
recommend that you steal all you the items you want first)
Take Note: Phoenix down/pinion will NOT work on any undead creature. It must
be a magic spell to kill it.***
Black Jack:
After beating the game watch the credits until you
see "The End" on the screen. Now press, during "The End" is displayed: R2, L1,
R2, R2, Up, X, Right, Circle, Down, Triangle, L2, R1, R2, L1, Square, Square,
Start.
Reset in Game
Press during the game L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Select +
Start to reset the game.
Ultimecia Strategy:
I had Squall, Rinoa and Quistis in my team. All were

Lifa Tree
Boss
To kill the Lifa Tree boss real quick....cast LIFE on him you get no AP or
EXP.I don't think
it's the best way to beat him but it is a hint none the less.
